Since 1980, Rocky Mountain SER has provided employment, education, and job training support to members of underserved communities throughout Colorado. The organization manages a budget of approximately $24 million each year while offering services to the majority of Colorado’s counties.
Among other initiatives, Rocky Mountain SER coordinates a federally funded Head Start early childhood education program. Servicing more than 2,000 children throughout Colorado, the Rocky Mountain SER Head Start program prepares children for kindergarten using a creative curriculum taught by highly trained teaching staff. The curriculum focuses on reading, math, and other areas of cognitive development while being sensitive to cultural differences among participants.
Additionally, the Head Start offers auxiliary services such as clothing, nutrition, and temporary housing assistance to qualified recipients. Through each stage of the program, Rocky Mountain SER coordinates with other local agencies and service providers to ensure each student receives the support he or she needs to succeed in school.
