The Broncos finished the 2017 season with a win-loss record of 5-11 and, as such, will pick fifth overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. One of the team's most pressing needs is a capable quarterback, and several publications have already produced mock drafts highlighting the following players.
1. Josh Rosen - A 6-foot-4, 218-pound quarterback who has spent the past three seasons with the University of California Los Angeles, Rosen is regarded as one of the best quarterbacks available in the draft. He recorded career highs in passing yards (3,717) and touchdowns (26) this past season.
2. Sam Darnold - Despite having a relatively disappointing campaign in 2017, he has the best upside according to several experts. A CBS Sports mock draft has him going first overall to the Cleveland Browns, but he would also be a perfect fit in Denver should he fall to the fifth pick in the draft.
3. Baker Mayfield - Bleacher Report has the winner of the 2017 Heisman Trophy going fifth overall to the Broncos in its mock draft. Mayfield also finished in the top five for Heisman voting in each of the past two seasons and boasts an impressive collegiate career with 131 touchdowns and 30 interceptions over four seasons.
